The Southern Nevada Health District is currently investigating a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak at The Grandview in Las Vegas. Three cases have been confirmed, with individuals who stayed at the hotel in February and April 2025. These cases were linked to Legionella bacteria, a pathogen commonly found in water systems.

Upon notification of these cases, the Health District conducted environmental sampling at The Grandview, which returned positive results for Legionella bacteria in the water. In response, the hotel has launched immediate water remediation efforts and is conducting follow-up testing to ensure the safety of its guests. The facility has also begun notifying affected guests and implementing precautionary measures to reduce any further risks.

The hotel is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Guests who stayed at the hotel between February 2025 and April 2025 are advised to monitor for symptoms and complete a confidential illness survey if they are experiencing any related health issues.

Public Health Response by the Southern Nevada Health District

The Southern Nevada Health District is actively investigating the cause of the outbreak. The Health District has recommended that guests who stayed at The Grandview on or after March 27, 2025, and are experiencing symptoms, take immediate action. Symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease typically develop 2 to 10 days after exposure, and include:

• Shortness of breath
• Fever
• Muscle aches
• Headaches

For those who stayed at The Grandview before May 7, 2025, and are not experiencing symptoms, they are not considered at risk for infection.
